- Initial problem
- Letting an AI near financial data meant choosing: either it may write and the provenance of a figure is lost, or it may do nothing and saves no work.

- Deep research lacked an auditable chain from every claim to admitted evidence and counterevidence.

- OCR-heavy PDFs quickly fill a vision LLM's context, while plain text extraction loses layouts, tables and drawings.

- Inspectors had to review sewer videos frame by frame, so a critical finding could take up to seven days to reach the right desk.
