2. Hosting and server log files

This website is hosted by an external provider (Railway Corp., USA). The host processes the data arising from your visit on our behalf under a data processing agreement pursuant to Art. 28 GDPR. Transfers to the USA are covered by the EU standard contractual clauses.

When you open the website, server log files are created automatically from what your browser transmits: IP address, date and time of the request, the page requested, referrer URL, browser type and operating system. This data is technically necessary to deliver the site and to keep it stable and secure. The legal basis is Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR (legitimate interest in technically sound operation). This data is not merged with other data sources.

3. Contact form

If you use the contact form, the details you enter – name, email address, subject and message – are transmitted to me and stored there in order to process your enquiry. Without them I cannot reply to you.

The legal basis is Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR where your enquiry relates to a contract or pre-contractual steps, otherwise Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR (legitimate interest in answering enquiries).

To deliver the form message as an email I use the provider Resend (Resend, Inc., USA) as a processor. The form contents are transmitted to Resend in the process. This is based on a data processing agreement pursuant to Art. 28 GDPR together with the EU standard contractual clauses.

To protect against automated submissions, the form contains a hidden field (honeypot) and a limit on requests per time period. No additional personal profiles are created in doing so.

4. Contact by email or phone

If you contact me directly by email or phone, your details are stored in order to handle your request. The legal basis is Art. 6(1)(b) or (f) GDPR.

5. Cookies, analytics and tracking

This website sets no cookies for analytics, advertising or audience measurement. There is no tracking and no profiling. Fonts are served locally from our own server; no connection to Google Fonts or other external providers is made.

A verification file is stored to confirm ownership in Google Search Console. It sets no cookies and processes no personal data of visitors.

6. Storage period

Server log files are deleted regularly once they are no longer required for technical operation. Enquiries received via the contact form or by email are stored for as long as processing them requires, and beyond that only where statutory retention periods apply.

7. Your rights

You have the right at any time to information about the data stored about you (Art. 15 GDPR), to rectification (Art. 16 GDPR), to erasure (Art. 17 GDPR), to restriction of processing (Art. 18 GDPR) and to data portability (Art. 20 GDPR).

Where processing is based on a legitimate interest, you have the right to object to that processing on grounds relating to your particular situation (Art. 21 GDPR). Any consent you have given can be withdrawn at any time with effect for the future.

An informal message to the email address above is enough to exercise these rights.

8. Right to lodge a complaint

You have the right to lodge a complaint with a data protection supervisory authority. The competent authority here is the State Commissioner for Data Protection and Freedom of Information Baden-Württemberg, Lautenschlagerstraße 20, 70173 Stuttgart, Germany.

9. Encryption

This site is served exclusively over a TLS-encrypted connection (HTTPS). Data you submit through the contact form is therefore protected in transit.
